Left to Rot represents the intersection of digital precision and raw, visceral storytelling. In this introductory exhibition, Riley Fraser strips back the layers of her debut comic project to reveal the craftsmanship behind the characters.

The gallery features a comprehensive breakdown of the Left to Rot cast, showcasing the evolution from initial silhouette to final render. By focusing on the individual portraits of those “left behind,” Fraser explores the weight of isolation through high-contrast digital illustration. This is an invitation to view the blueprints of a world in decline, curated for the digital space.

About Riley

The Illustrator Behind the Decay

“I’ve always been drawn to the beauty in the broken. Growing up in Dunfermline, you’re surrounded by history that is literally ‘left to rot’ ancient stones and crumbling abbeys. My work is about capturing that sense of abandonment through the permanent stroke of a pen and the raw texture of graphite on paper.”

Riley Fraser is a Dunfermline-based illustrator whose work occupies the space between haunting atmospheric horror and sharp, character-driven storytelling. While this exhibition is hosted online, every line is born from a traditional soul; Riley blends the gritty, tactile textures of pencil with high-contrast ink designs to create characters that feel weathered and real.

Left to Rot marks her debut into the world of graphic novels. Through this series, she explores themes of resilience and isolation, proving that even in the most desolate environments, there is a story worth telling. This exhibition serves as the first “case file” into the world she is building by hand, from the ground up.
