Untitled

by Elph

1st November – 6th December 2024

Society Cycles, Edinburgh, Scotland

Screened every Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm and additional viewings were shown on an ad-hoc basis

Introducing the first piece for the MEDIA DJS digital gallery, Elph’s looping animation captures the essence of urban life through a vibrant, graffiti-infused lens. In this work, a solitary figure walks along a street, navigating an ever-evolving environment that pulses with Elph’s signature colors and bold forms. This continuous journey, set in a surreal, ever-shifting streetscape, invites viewers to reflect on the cycles of city life—the relentless movement, the layers of experiences, and the sense of constant change that defines urban existence. The piece suggests that, much like the figure, we are all navigating an endlessly transforming world, shaped by our surroundings yet also shaping them with our presence. Through this interplay of motion and color, Elph explores themes of identity, resilience, and the shared rhythm that connects us in our unique yet universal journeys.
