Society Cycles, Edinburgh, Scotland
Screened every Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm and additional viewings were shown on an ad-hoc basis
A collection of 20 images exploring the realm of Altered Reality.
This work is driven by vivid imagination – something I’ve always had in abundance. But bringing imaginative concepts to life requires more than just creativity. It demands the ability to see the finished image in the mind’s eye before even beginning. Each piece in this series is carefully constructed using technical skill, an in-depth understanding of compositing tools, and a library of self-captured photographic elements. These images don’t depict the world as it is – but as it could be.
ABOUT BRUCE HARLEY – EFIAP/s EPSA C***MOL DPAGB BPE5
Award-winning Photographic Artist
Photography has been a lifelong passion, sparked early on by learning from my father and using a Kodak Brownie 127. Although my professional career in IT as a Programme/Project Manager put photography on hold, retirement in 2014 reignited that passion. An online course drew me back in, and since then, I’ve dedicated the past decade to developing my skills and competing in national and international photography competitions – earning hundreds of medals, awards, and distinctions. While I enjoy all photography styles, my true passion lies in creating imaginative composite images entirely from my own photographic library – no AI or external assets involved.
