About
MEDIADJS is a unique digital gallery initiative designed to bring innovative art and culture to public spaces through accessible, affordable digital displays. Envisioned for placement in vibrant community shops, MEDIADJS transforms large storefront windows into dynamic art experiences for both passersby and dedicated art lovers. By using standard flat-screen TVs or low-cost projectors instead of high-end digital screens, MEDIADJS makes digital galleries viable and adaptable for diverse shop environments.
This approach taps into underutilised “dead space” within shops, allowing the gallery to operate even when stores are closed, thereby maximising visibility and community engagement. In addition to providing a creative outlet for businesses, MEDIADJS invites any artist to display their work with an easy online application process – our only criterion being that if you create art, you are an artist.
Beyond curating our own digital exhibitions, we also provide digital exhibition content for venues that already have their own display equipment, whether used internally or externally. Our ready-to-play exhibitions are supplied on a USB stick, sent directly to the venue, along with an A3 poster featuring exhibition details and timings, ensuring visitors can engage with the artwork in a structured way. This enables spaces to host compelling digital exhibitions with minimal setup, expanding access to digital art without the need for complex technical installations.
Through this initiative, MEDIADJS is redefining how art is shared and experienced – bringing creativity to unexpected places and making digital galleries a seamless part of everyday life.
The first MEDIADJS gallery launched at Society Cycles in Morningside, Edinburgh, on November 1st 2024.
